Text Box: Pastor Tom Flaskerud is Founder and Director of the Freedom Team as well as the Tom Flaskerud Evangelistic Association www.TFEA.us.  Tom has a powerful testimony of how he was an Outlaw Motorcycle Gang leader and came to Christ at 30 years of age after kidnapping his wife’s little sister, Carla. God has dramatically changed his life and blessed him with a love for people and a desire to see all come to a saving relationship with Jesus Christ. Tom has been an evangelist with the Freedom Team for the last  30 years and also has 17 years experience as a pastor.  

Text Box: Joy Richard, youngest daughter of Tom and Carla, often opens the Power Explosions with her dynamic, energetic and inspiring songs. Joy began opening the Prison Power Explosions three years ago and also has her own Concert Ministry to inmates www.JoyConcert.org.  She is also involved in the physical elements of breaking boards, tearing phone books and doing forms as an effective witness for God. 

Text Box: Carla Flaskerud, Tom’s wife of 33 years is also blessed  with supernatural ability to break gigantic stacks of bricks. Her current record is a stack of 44 bricks measuring 12’3” tall. She tears phone books in half and also breaks boards. She has worked alongside Tom in the various ministry roles and is gifted as a Bible Teacher. She and Tom often share their powerful testimony together about the life changing power of Jesus Christ.

Text Box: Regional Member, Jeremy Hoffman is on his twelfth  year with the Team. Jeremy often does high flying aerial  forms. Blows up water bottles till they explode, tears phone books and license plates in half, rolls frying pans, does jump kicks, as well as breaks boards and bricks. Jeremy is also a nationally licensed Massage Therapist who comes in very helpful  when the other Team members over exert themselves. Jeremy and his wife, Racheil, live in Anchorage, Alaska.

Text Box: Regional Member Bill Johnson has been involved with the Team over the last six years. Bill, who is a former pastor, comes with 20 years experience in bodybuilding and enjoys weight lifting and the competition end of the sport.  Bill has also been a trainer in body building.  Bill and his wife, Tracy, live in 29 Palms, CA with their two youngest children at home and they also have 2 grown children. 

Text Box: Tony Torres also comes from a competition bodybuilding background and was originally raised in the Virgin Islands.  Tony and his wife, Teresa, who also was instrumental in his making a commitment to Christ, live in Sunriver, OR. Tony  is on his eigth year with the Freedom Team  and enjoys the challenges  of both the spiritual and physical demands  of the Power Explosion Experience. Tony also speaks Spanish which has proven to be a great asset to the Team.  

 

 

 

Text Box: David Richard is on his eighth year with the Team and is owner of Central Oregon I.T. in Bend, OR.  David has a desire to use his abilities to God’s glory.  David enjoys traveling with the Team and the physical and spiritual challenges that have opened up to him. David and Joy will be married in August of 2008.  

Text Box: Pastor Rick Windlinx is a “Guest Member” with the Team.     Rick originally accepted Jesus Christ into his life 24 years ago at a Freedom Team Power Explosion.  Two  years later he married Karin, the young lady who invited him to see the Freedom Team and today they have two beautiful daughters who are serving God in their family church. Rick spent 4 years in the Marines and then felt God’s call to the pastorate.  He and his wife, Karin, co-pastor One Love Church in Bend, OR.    

 

Regional Member, Joe Olinger, grew up in a very humble home where he became a Christian early in life. Growing up Joe had a learning disorder and was very small, very easy to pick on. Joe started martial arts where he excelled. At 14, Joe, became one of the youngest black belts in his style. Even though he had accomplished much, he was still depressed and had psychotic thoughts.  One night he heard a voice say, "you’re worthless, kill yourself", so Joe took a 14" dagger and threw himself on it. The Lord spared his life and Joe turned his life over to Christ. All the depression and psychotic thinking left. 8 years ago Joe felt a call to strength ministry and became a power lifter . In addition to the Freedom Team, he uses his ability for God’s glory through his ‘Point of Break’ ministry.    Joe lives in Bristol, VA with his beautiful wife and wonderful kids.

   Steve Krebs and his wife, Carol, live in LaPine, OR. Steve comes from a background of drug addiction and illegal activities. Steve has a very powerful testimony of how while being locked up in his jail cell he heard the life changing message of Jesus Christ from his cellmate. It turned out that this was a divine appointment from God as Steve asked the jailer where his cellmate had gone only to find out that no one had been in his cell with him. After his release Steve was shot in the stomach at point blank range with a shotgun and died on the hospital operating table. Steve experienced the bright light, floating up out of his body, and then felt the hand of Jesus pushing him down and back into his body. Steve and Carol are an asset to the Freedom Team.

Ted Synder has joined our Team as a Regional Member. Ted and his family live in Kuna, ID and Ted is a Sergeant with the Boise Police Department as well as an Associate Pastor. Ted is also a Martial Arts student at Joe Peel’s Free Style Defensive Arts Studio in Boise and comes with the recommendation from Regional Members Joe & Gina. The Prison Power Explosions were Ted’s introduction to the Team activities as he stepped up to the plate and did all we asked of him. Ted is a  likeable person who has a heart to serve God and share the message of Jesus Christ.
Fred Thomas has joined the Freedom Team as the Director of Development. Fred comes from many years of ministry experience with a heart for evangelism and brings his unique talents to the Team. Some of Fred's experience includes: Church Pastoring, Director of Church Growth for the Free Methodist Church of North America, Director of Youth For Christ - New York, Church Coach - Oregon Conference FMC. Fred and his wife, Charlene, live in Salem, Oregon.

  Steven Lewis has joined our Team as a Regional Member.  Steven is a Submarine Electronics Chief Warrant Officer III in the United States Navy serving as the Electronics Material Officer while stationed at Naval Submarine Base Bangor Washington.  His first Prison Power Explosions were at the Washington Corrections Center in Shelton, WA.  Steven originally believed he was only going to set up and break down the equipment but God had other plans.  Steven was a full participant in all disciplines of the presentation.  Steven wants to continue working with the Freedom Team helping spread the love of Jesus Christ. He did a great job and will be involved in many more Freedom Team Prison Power Explosions.

Raul Borrayo is the Freedom Team's Spanish Interpreter.    Raul and his family live in Nogales, AZ where he is actively involved in his church. Raul grew up on the streets of East L.A. after being kicked out of his home at 11 years. old. He has been heavily involved in gang life, drug addiction and the other activities that accompany this lifestyle. With no future in sight, Raul, turned to Jesus Christ and His life changing power. Christ came in and transformed Raul to a Godly man whose desire is to do God's will. In addition to interpreting the Mexican Power Explosion, Raul also accompanies Pastor Tom on the          Pre-crusade trips and interprets the details and arrangements.

 Chase Peel is also a  "Regional Member" of the Team. Chase has grown up in the Martial Arts and is an Extreme Martial Arts World Champion. Chase as an X-treme Martial Artist takes the ancient discipline of Karate to a new level. The kicks are higher and everything is quicker. some of the moves being done in X-treme martial arts have never been done before. Chase enjoys this sport where only the elite of the elite are involved.

Gina Peel a third year "Regional Member" lives in Boise, ID. Over a decade ago, Joe and Gina Peel started teaching Martial Arts from their garage. The vision that they had, began a life long dream to train up warriors for Jesus Christ, using the principles of the Bible as the foundation behind the mental discipline of martial arts. Since then, God has blessed them with several different schools, training children and adults alike. Gina the mother of three young men who are also heavily involved in the Martial Arts loves being a part of bringing people to Jesus Christ.

 Joe Peel is in his third year as a "Regional Member" of the Team. Joe comes from a family of rough and tumble men who enjoyed drinking and fighting.  After inviting Jesus Christ into his life during an overwhelming personal and spiritual battle, Christ began the transforming power that changed Joe's life. Ten years ago Joe and his wife, Gina, started Free Style Defensive Arts www.FSDA.net. The school has become popular among families and individuals looking for a way to transform areas of their lives. The Christian and family based philosophy offers that opportunity, underscoring the basic precepts of a sport that is rooted in self-discipline and respect for all humans.
